Nimitz operated in the Persian Gulf for two months until early November, thats the longest time a US aircraft carrier has spent in this region since 2018. An Israeli submarine headed for the same region coinciding with the sighting of submarine USS Georgia. This is also the first time in eight years that the deployment is made in the strategic waterway between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Richard Becker and Brian Downing exchange views on this issue.
