Afghan officials say there is a strong will among Afghan politicians in Kabul to bring peace and stability to the war-torn country.

Top government officials believe government's “YES” to the resumption of intra-Afghan talks in the Qatari capital Doha reveals Kabul’s true will to end the Afghan conflict via talks. Therefore no obstacle should be there on the way of launching the second round of talks.

Many here urge the government delegation not to sit back during negotiations when it comes to the red lines of people such as press freedom, human rights and democracy.

Figures like this man believe that both negotiating sides must set aside their differences and make a fruitful agreement in order to put an end to decades-long misery of Afghans.

The intra-Afghan negotiations were kicked off in September. The process is now known as a long complicated process that has brought nothing much important for the people and the government of Afghanistan.

Despite this, both the government and the nation continue to convince the Taliban to follow their interests via negotiations instead of fueling further war.

Besides all ifs and buts regarding the fate of peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban, war weary Afghans have simple demands from both sides: pay respect to the lives, and of course, steer the nation toward achieving a real and lasting peace.
