UNGA resolution on Iran

The UN General Assembly passed a resolution on the human rights situation in Iran on Wednesday.

The document was critical of the use of the death penalty, and prison conditions among other alleged rights violations in Iran.

The resolution was proposed by the Canadian government and supported by the United States and mostly its regional and Western allies.
