As the US waits for the election results during a pandemic, President Trump's allegations of fraud have increased the likelihood of epic post-election court fights.
For those who remember the turbulent and unprecedented vote-counting battle in Florida that polarized the United States in 2000, causing the Supreme Court to decide the outcome, it may be that starting this coming Tuesday, they will be able to relive the same emotions, only this time much more intense.
The current president has repeatedly said that the elections will be fraudulent and that he will not recognize his adversary's victory if that is how the electoral boards decide. Specialists indicate that the demands and the uncertainty will occur in November and at least until January.
The US is accustomed to declaring a winner on the evening of election day, but this year's elections can still linger for days or even weeks as states finalize vote tallies conduct recounts.
