Saudi Arabia fails to join UN Human Rights Council

Saudi Arabia has failed in its attempt to become a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the next three-year term. Riyadh won only 90 votes out of the 193 ballots cast during the election at the UN General Assembly. There are serious concerns over Saudi Arabia’s rights records. The kingdom has killed thousands of people in Yemen.
