Portland got off to a hot start, outscoring the 6ers 33 to 19 in the 1st half and held on to their advantage for a 9 point-lead at the intermission. Philadelphia regrouped in the 3rd quarter, claiming it 34 to 24 to earn their 1st lead of the game, yet the Blazers responded in the final quarter to seal the victory.
Damian Lillard led the way for Portland with 51 points, helping his side move within a half-game of the Memphis Grizzlies, who are 8th in the Western Conference. Josh Richardson scored a season-best 34 points for the 76ers.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to 3 games with a 122 to 119 overtime victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday. Gordon Hayward scored 31 points and Jayson Tatum added 29 for the 3rd-place Celtics, who missed their slim chances to secure the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference.
Nikola Vucevic had 26 points and 11 rebounds for Orlando, who have dropped 4 in a row. In the other games on Sunday night, the Houston Rockets topped the Sacramento Kings 129 to 112, and the Brooklyn Nets stunned the Los Angeles Clippers 129 to 120.
