Manchester City's two-year European football ban lifted

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has lifted Manchester City’s 2-year ban from European Football, as the Sky Blues win their appeal.

The court delivered its ruling on Monday, lifting the ban and reducing a 30 million euro fine to 10 million euros. The Court said that most of the alleged breaches reported by UEFA were either not established or time-barred. The European Football Governing Body had ruled in February that City had committed serious breaches of financial fair play regulations and failed to cooperate with its investigation. The citizens will face Real Madrid in this year’s Champions League last-16 second leg at the Etihad Stadium on either the 7th or 8th of August. They lead 2-1 from the first leg that took place in Madrid.
