Trump's flawed 'metrics' killing Americans 

US President Donald Trump, who has blood on his hands, continues to mislead the American public, hindering the work of experts fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking at a White House novel coronavirus briefing, Trump said he would use his own "metrics" to determine the government's next move.

“The metrics right here, that’s my metrics,” Trump pointed at his forehead as he took questions during the briefing on Friday. 

As a pretext to ease social distancing restrictions in the near future, Trump insisted that ending the US shutdown would be his biggest decision.

He depicted a distorted and misleading picture for the public, saying the US was in "great shape" amid the worsening crisis across the country.

“We’re in great shape with ventilators, we’re in great shape with protective clothing, we have additional planeloads coming in. But we’re not getting any calls from governors at this moment,” he said making reference to the governors' pleas for supplies.

Trump, who has repeatedly misled the public about the coronavirus pandemic, has been urged by experts to refrain from false comments on the subject and let the leading US authority Dr. Anthony Fauci deliver fact-based updates from experts on the forefront in the fight against virus.

Trump’s top coronavirus adviser recently warned the public that there was no scientific evidence to support the use of drugs touted by the president as a possible remedy for COVID-19.

Trump, who has acknowledged the imminent death of many Americans due to the deadly virus, advised the public to take anti-malaria drugs to fight the novel coronavirus, causing outrage among health experts across the globe. 

In the meantime, both the public and US officials have expressed strong dissatisfaction with Trump's misleading comments during vital news coverage of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to several recent new polls, most Americans disapprove of Trump's leadership amid the public health crisis.

Support for President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic has diminished over the past two weeks, according to a new survey.

Meanwhile, leaders of other governments have been taking immediate, significant and decisive actions to help people from all walks of society to face the hardship caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

World leaders have used their novel coronavirus briefings to inform the public of the facts and necessary measures recommended by the medics and scientists.

This is stark contrast to Trump, who tries to make all the news briefing all about himself, idiotically referring his "metrics" as his tool for judgment during this pandemic.

Many US officials and most Americans not only just disapprove of Trump's "metrics", but also, they accuse this president of having innocent people's "blood on his hands".

US President Donald Trump has “blood on his hands,” says a New York official, whose mother died after contracting the novel coronavirus.

"I got to tell you Donald Trump has blood on his hands and he has my mom’s blood on his hands,” New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer told CNN Monday.

"The government is supposed to protect our people and we are supposed to protect our parents and grandparents the way they protected us” he said, mourning for his mother who died after contracting the novel coronavirus.
