Novak Djokovic has saved three match points to beat Gael Monfis 2-6, 7-6 and 6-1 in the semi-finals of the Dubai Championships.
The world number one, who had defeated Monfis in all their previous encounters, thought it would be an easy game, but the Frenchman seized control with a double break of serve in the opener to go ahead.
Djokovic faced further difficulty in the second set, where he was broken once, failed to convert five set points and had to save three match points in the tie-break before delivering a 10-8 win.
However, it was a different story in the third, with the Serb cruising to victory to reach his sixth Dubai final. He will play on Saturday for a fifth Dubai trophy against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
