Rafael Nadal has breezed into the quarter-finals of the Mexican Open with a straight-sets win over Miomir Kechmanovich of Serbia in Acapulco.
Top-Seeded Nadal made light work of his first set against Kechmanovich by winning the opening five games before taking it 6-2.
The young Serbian posed a bit of a threat in the second, breaking back from Nadal at 5-4 down, but was unable to build upon his effort as Nadal sealed the match at 7-5 with another break.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion will next face 76th-ranked Kwon Soon-Woo in the quarter-finals, while his path to glory was made a lot easier with both Alexander Sergeev and Felix Auger Aliassime suffering upsets in their second round ties.
