24 children between the ages of 3 and 12 raced each other on their llama pets, 4,000 meters above sea level, in a popular celebration called "Llamingada" on Saturday.
The camelid competition is observed on February 8 each year by the Sacha Cumbiji indigenous community, as part of celebrations for World Wetlands Day. The cute Andean critters are usually bred by children who tame and take care of them.
