Manchester United have defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Jose Mourinho’s return to Old Trafford as the visiting team’s manager
Marcus Rashford fired the hosts into the lead only 6 minutes into the game with a powerful strike that crept in at the near post. Dele Alli drew Spurs level in the 39th minute with their 1st venture into the United box after burying his strike into the net from close range.
Rashford then converted a penalty 4 minutes into the 2nd half after being brought down in the area to restore United’s lead. They held on, despite some late pressure, to inflict Mourinho’s 1st defeat in his 4th game in charge of Spurs and leapfrog them into 6th in the Premier League table.
