Seoul balks at US pressure for overseas deployment of South Korean troops

Seoul has voiced opposition to a pressure from the United States for the participation of the South Korean troops in the US conflicts overseas. News Reports have cited confidential sources on the matter, adding that the general public is also against the move. Activists are also concerned that such move would result in further deployment of Korean troops in areas such as the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz.
