Lebanon economic crisis
The Lebanese protests which began in reaction to a government decision to impose tax on messaging services snowballed into a nationwide rejection of the country's rampant economic problems.
Angry Lebanese protesters accuse the government and the ruling elite of widespread corruption and have called for its resignation. In a move to stop the protests; Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri announced a series of major economic reforms including the scrapping of austerity measures.
