Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and allied army units launched Monday for the first time a drone attack on a military position in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. Saudi Arabia has denied the attack, saying it shot down a drone inside Yemen.

This came a day after the Yemeni military fired 10 ballistic missiles at Saudi military sites in Jizan International Airport. It said the attack was the largest operation with short-range ballistic missiles against the Saudi targets and the start of a new phase which will target more vital economic infrastructure.

Samad drone 3rd was first used in Ansarallah drone operation on Abu Dhabi international airport. Riyadh attack was its second target since it was first introduced.

After downing a US MQ9 reconnaissance and offensive drone over the past week, the spokesman for Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree said new domestically produced first and second generation of air defense systems have become operational to stop Saudis aerial attacks that have claimed the lives of over 16 thousand civilians, mostly children and women so far.

Observers say Ansarullah movement has become a power that should be recognized by Riyadh and its allies as a national force backed by the majority of Yemenis in northern areas. They believe now is the time for the aggressors to stop their military campaign in Yemen that has brought nothing but a trail of death and destruction.
