After the provinces of Fars and Golestan, the flood attacked Iran’s Lorestan and other western provinces. Aqqalla’s name is not heard on the news any more as such, because the flood has come to a standstill so far.
That doesn't mean a moment’s rest for the rescue teams. Relief workers are in their third week of distributing donations by people to the flood-stricken.
The flood has affected 10 Western provinces on its route. The flood victims across the country have received different relief packages. They are given accommodations, heating devices, hot meals and clothes.
Estimates indicated that about 50,000 houses have been ruined in the flood that need reconstruction and about 100,000 houses have been damaged.
n the Golestan province, 17,000 houses have been damaged by the flood from which 7,000 need complete reconstruction and 10,000 need repair.
Village dwellers are allocated low-interest loans as much as around 3,000 dollars and city dwellers around 4,000 dollars.
