According to reports, both buildings had large visible cracks in their facades before collapsing, and the buildings were already under an evacuation order.

However, the authorities did not rule out the possibility of squatters being trapped under the rubble, and launched a search and rescue operation involving dozens of firefighters, first responders and canine units.

Residents from the neighboring buildings have been evacuated, reports say, as there is a possibility of another collapse.
