Thousands of demonstrators protest against 'weapons deals' in Munich

Some 2,000 demonstrators have gathered in protest against what they claim is backdoor weapons dealing at the annual Munich Security Conference.

A planned attempt to form a symbolic human chain around Hotel Bayerischer Hof was called off after snow and cold kept protesters away. Protesters gathered under the motto “peace not armament,” calling for a reduction in arms dealing and the trend towards arms stockpiling.
