A scandal over alleged links between US President Donald Trump’s team and Russia is increasingly haunting the White House. Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn has been at the center of the high profile scandal. He recently pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his contacts with the Russian ambassador to the US. The extent of Flynn’s violations is still coming to light. It even threatens to implicate the occupant of the Oval Office especially now that Flynn has agreed to assist special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. The latest twist in the long saga of alleged collusion between Trump’s team and Russia came on Wednesday. A top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee says Flynn told a business associate in January that American sanctions against the Russian Federation would be “ripped up” soon.

Trump vs. world: US recognizes al-Quds as Israel's capital

The shockwaves following the US president’s recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds continue as more and more world leaders react to Donald trump’s  move. Muslim countries have lashed out at the US with Iran strongly condemning Trump’s decision to relocate the American embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds. Iraq’s Foreign Ministry summoned the US ambassador to Baghdad, demanding that the White House reverse its decision. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the White House completely disregarded a 1980 UN resolution regarding the status of al-Quds. Palestinians have condemned trump’s move as a declaration of war. Russia, China and the EU have also opposed the recognition of al-Quds as the Israeli regime’s capital.
