The meeting was the first since Hariri returned home on Tuesday night after three weeks. He stayed in several countries, including Saudi Arabia, where he announced his surprise resignation. The former Bosnian Serbian commander known as the Butcher of Bosnia who was shouting at the judges was removed from the courtroom before the verdict was read out. Mladic has been found guilty of orchestrating a military campaign of ethnic cleansing to drive Muslims, Croats and other non-Serbs off their land. 45,000 people were killed from 1992 to 1995, among them more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys who were killed after Mladic’s forces overran the UN-protected enclave of Srebrenica.
