US President Donald Trump’s domestic and foreign policies have been unpopular with most Americans and have not improved the lives the general public, a major factor for Trump’s plunging approval ratings, an analyst says.

Americans have not seen a noticeable shift in the Trump administration’s stance since the previous president, said Adam Garrie, an author and managing editor of The Duran news website.

Separately, most Americans are not informed correctly about Trump by the “lying” US media, Garrie told Press TV on Thursday.

“Most Americans are not informed, and they’re certainly not informed completely or correctly; they tend to get their news from lying mainstream media, which has a clear agenda against Trump, for better or for worse,” he said.

A Washington Post-ABC News survey released Sunday shows that majority of Americans continue to disapprove of the way Trump is handling his job and say he has not accomplished much during his first nine months in office.

The poll found that Trump receives low ratings for his handling of the economy, health care, race relation and terrorism.

Just 37 percent say they approve of his job, a rating that has changed little over the past four months.

Trump’s approval rating at this point in his term is noticeably lower than any previous president in over seven decades.

Trump is the only US leader since former President Harry Truman -- in office from 1945 until 1953 -- whose approval rating at this point in his presidency is net negative — by 22 points.

A CNN/SSRS survey released Wednesday shows most Americans are losing confidence in Trump and think he is doing a “poor job” in delivering on his campaign promises.
