Liverpool have moved closer to the UEFA Champions League’s knockout stages for the first time since the 2008-09 season with a 3-0 victory over Maribor.

It was a tough match for both teams in the first half that finished goalless on Sunday night. However, Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah broke the deadlock in the 49th minute with a clever flicked finish.

German midfielder Emre Can exchanged passes with James Milner to curl in the second from the edge of the box in the 63rd minute. And finally, Daniel Sturridge found the net from close range in the last minute.

Liverpool remain top and unbeaten in Group E with eight points from four matches.
