South Korea proposes talks with North Korea

Inter-Korean cooperation

South Korea has offered dialogue with North Korea on two separate fronts in efforts to generate inter-Korean cooperation and reduce tension on the Korean Peninsula. The move comes following North Korea’s July 4 test of a ballistic missile in response to what Pyongyang calls Washington’s provocations in the region.
