S Korea’s president removed from office by top court

South Korea’s impeached president, Park Geun-hye, has been fired from her post by the Constitutional Court. Park was impeached over a graft scandal involving leading conglomerates, including Samsung, amid intensifying protests by both her opponents and supporters. Eight judges of the Constitutional Court voted unanimously for her early departure.
