Catalonia vows to hold referendum despite court ban

Catalonia's regional government has denounced Spain's high court ban on a referendum on self rule this year. The Catalonian government warned that the decision by the Constitutional Court to annul a parliamentary resolution to that effect does not alter its plan to hold the vote. Spain's ban is set to further deepen the differences between the central government of Mariano Rajoy and the pro-independent camp in the north-eastern region of Catalonia.
