The counselor to US President-elect Donald Trump and his former campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, says she has more time to work in the future administration as she does not have to deal with golf or mistresses, unlike other men in the administration.

Conway, who was appointed as the counselor to the president last week, made the remarks in an interview with Fox Business.

“I would say that I don’t play golf and I don’t have a mistress so, I have a lot of time that a lot of these other men don’t,” she said.

“I see people on the weekend spending an awful lot of time on their golf games and that’s their right, but the kids will be with me, we live in the same house, and they come first,” she further claimed.

She also stated that she was trying to help “continue the conversation as a nation about the balance that many men and women face.”

Her comments ran counter to her earlier statement, suggesting that she would not be getting a senior role as a “mom of four is not [in] most job descriptions.”

Since a 2005 recording revealed the now-president-elect’s claims of sexual assault, Conway has been questioned as how she can work with a man who takes pride in making unwanted advances towards women.

Trump branded the 49-year-old as "a trusted adviser and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory.”

“She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message," continued the future president. "I am pleased that she will be part of my senior team in the West Wing.”

Conway, for her part, thanked the president-elect for “this amazing opportunity,” asserting that “A Trump presidency will bring real change to Washington and to Americans across this great nation.”
