EU legislators have highlighted what they described as the appalling neglect of refugee children currently inside the 28-country bloc. A debate in the European Parliament has heard that 10,000 children, mainly from Syria and Afghanistan, have gone missing in the EU while a further 96,000 unaccompanied minors are being neglected.
