Chemical weapons issue in Syria deception by US, allies: Analyst

Press TV has conducted an interview with Scott Bennett, a former US army psychological warfare officer, to discuss the findings of a UN-led investigation that claims Damascus used chlorine gas in two attacks in 2014 and 2015.

Here is a rough transcription of the interview:

Press TV: This blame game has been going on between anti-government and government forces since the first chemical attack. Your thoughts on the UN’s findings and Syria’s disappointment with this probe?

Bennett: The reality is the chemical weapons card is always the easiest and ugliest one to put on the table, because it labels the government that uses them - the monster that must be destroyed. And that is precisely what the United States attempted to do in concert with the Saudi Arabian Wahhabi invaders that were sent up to destabilize Syria. They [also] did it in concert with NATO, France and Great Britain under Cameron.

It was all a lie. It was a sham and Russia knew that. Russia’s intelligence apparatus knew that and it has now been exposed. We know the United Nations is never going to give any serious scientific effort into exposing the truth of the chemicals and who had them; where they were manufactured; and the trajectory of the weaponry which obviously makes it impossible for Assad to have ever done this in the first place. But they do not want to pay attention to those inconvenient facts because they would actually lead back to the anti-government forces.

The truth is that the chemical weapons issue was all a deception launched by NATO, launched by the US, launched by France, launched by Wahhabist Saudi Arabians, launched by Israel to try and destabilize Assad and remove him. And Russia has stepped in and saved Assad in that 2013 event where he essentially promised that all chemical weapons would be surrendered in exchange for allowing Assad to remain. And that checkmated their play and stopped them cold and they have had to adapt ever since.

Now as more people discover the truth of the chemical issue and who they are really connected to, and [of] Erdogan being used as a puppet by NATO and the US, I think they will come to see increasingly that Assad and Russia and Iran have been on the right side of history and the right side of civilization.

Press TV: The UN has been blamed more and more for not showing objectivity and it has been showing favoritism and its credibility has increasingly been coming under question. Can we trust that this body will conduct an unbiased probe in Syria?

Bennett: No, you cannot. You cannot trust anything that the United States under Kerry or Obama or Hillary Clinton puts out. Their DNA make-up is lies and sadly the government apparatus under them has been following a policy and strategy of lies and pretending they are truths. Everything that they have touched, it has turned to lead or ashes or fire. Nothing has been of a constructive peaceful civilization-enhancing operation under Obama, under Hillary Clinton, under Kerry. And sadly the United States military has been used as a pawn to fund and enable the Wahhabi Salafist enemies into flooding into Europe and also being a potential damage to the United States.

So Americans are just catching up to the truth. But the truth has a nasty habit of burning away lies and liars, and I think Hillary Clinton is soon going to be burned up in the political elections.
