The Wahhabist ideology, which is inspired by the terrorist groups, is supported by the West and wreaks havoc not only in Syria but also all around the world to endorse the Western boots on the ground in the region, says a former US Senate foreign policy analyst in an interview with Press TV.
“ISIS [Daesh] did not come out of nowhere, it was predicted in that 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency memo, it was not an accident, it was a desired outcome through our support for these terrorist groups in Syria,” James Jatras said on Friday, referring to the recent terror attack in France.
On Thursday night, a driver rammed a truck at high speed into a large crowd of people who had gathered for Bastille Day fireworks in the French city of Nice. Police sources said the driver is a 31-year-old Franco-Tunisian man.
Pointing to the lack of competence of the Western states to foil terrorist attacks in their own territories, Jatras noted, “What we are seeing is another failure of the Western governments and useless Western institutions like NATO and the European Union in their most fundamental responsibility to safeguard their lives and safety of their citizens.”
Another commentator told Press TV what is happening both in France and Iraq as well as around the world is “indifference to human life.” He urged the world to tackle the phenomenon, which is inspired by the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group or a sort of anarchism.
Peter Sinnott, an independent scholar, also said the French society is lacking the ability to accept religious communities, adding that the three terrorist attacks in one year in the country may entail a change of government.
