Iran thrash Kyrgyzstan 6-0 in friendly match at Azadi stadium

Iran national football team thrashes Kyrgyzstan 6-0 in a friendly match in Tehran's Azadi stadium on Tuesday.

Iran have earned a comfortable 6-nil victory over Kyrgyzstan in a one-sided friendly match at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium as they continue preparing ahead of the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.

Carlos Queiroz's men, who were coming off a 3-1 win over Macedonia in their last outing, were quick to find the opener on Tuesday.

They were awarded an early penalty for a handball and Masoud Shojaei stepped up to convert the spot-kick to make it 1-nil to Iran.

Mehdi Taremi and Mehdi Torabi scored within a 4-minute span midway through the first-half to make it 3-nil before the break.

Goals kept on coming for Iran. In the 68th minute, Alireza Jahanbakhsh delivered a cross from the right for Karim Ansarifard who simply tapped-in the 4th goal for the Asian giants.

Jahanbakhsh again was the provider 3 minutes from time, setting up Sardar Azmoun for his 15th international goal in his 18th appearance.

And, it was Ansarifard who capped the scoring for Iran with his second of the night, making it 6-nil to the hosts.
