Elsinore Castle in Denmark holds Hamlet Weekend

Kronborg Castle in Denmark or as in Hamlet’s tragedy, the Elsinore Castle, has seen some special guests and events to mark the death of William Shakespeare 400 years ago.

To commemorate the writer’s 400th death anniversary, the weekend in Denmark has been called Hamlet Weekend. The one-week festival began on 21st of April, with the Queen of Denmark attending a banquet at the castle.

Theater and musical performances, dinners with food from Shakespeare’s time, renaissance walks and readings of Hamlet were among the other events included.
