Kashmir observes India's Republic Day as ‘Black Day’

Indian-controlled Kashmir has observed a complete shutdown to mark the Indian Republic day as Black Day. The strike aims to attract attention to Kashmir’s demand for the right to self-determination as had been promised by India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
