We all have clothes in our closets that we don’t need or don't want any more. So, why not give them away to those in need? Well, the recycling bins in China are encouraging the people to do just that.
More than 800 panda-shaped cans have been placed at different residential complexes in Shanghai as part of the campaign to encourage residents to donate their old clothes.
Each can collects an average of 60 kilos of clothes. They are equipped with top sensor technology that will inform the collection agent when they are 80 percent full.
The clothes that are in a good condition are donated to schools in poor areas while the rest are recycled and turned into other useful items.
