The Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees supporting the Houthi Ansarullah movement, has liberated a district in the southwestern province of Ta’izz.

Yemen’s official Saba Net news agency reported that the country’s troops captured the al-Hanah district of Ta’izz late on Saturday following a mop-up operation that killed an unspecified number of Saudi-backed militants loyal to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

In another development, Yemeni soldiers destroyed mortar launchers used by the Saudi mercenaries in the Dhubab district of Ta’izz.

Meanwhile, Yemeni forces managed to capture government headquarters and several hills near a military base in the Hazm district of the northern province of Jawf.

Yemeni security forces, in cooperation with the Popular Committees, dismantled a car bomb in the capital, Sana’a.

The Yemeni army continued its attacks on Saudi forces inside the kingdom in retaliation for Riyadh’s incessant strikes against the impoverished country.

Yemen’s al-Masirah news channel reported on Saturday that Ansarullah fighters launched mortar attacks on the Saudi military bases of Jahfan and Jabal al-Dood in the southwestern border region of Jizan, killing and injuring a number of Saudi troops.

Yemen’s army also destroyed several Saudi vehicles in a mortar attack on the al-Fasid military base in Jizan.

In another retaliatory raid, several Saudi bases in the Saudi region of Najran came under missile and mortar attacks by Yemeni forces.

Latest Saudi strikes on Yemen

Saudi Arabia is pressing ahead with its aggression against Yemen, causing more deaths and destruction in its southern neighbor.

In their latest attacks, Saudi fighter jets hit a number of districts in Sa'ada Province, killing at least seven people and injuring seven others.

Saudi jets also targeted the communication network and different areas in the Sahar district of Sa’ada.

The economic institutions in the Hamdan district and the Sabaha district of the capital were bombarded several times. Saudi warplanes also carried out a series of raids on the Camp 36 in the Arhab district of Sana’a.

In the Ghayl district of Jawf, Saudi jets conducted two airstrikes and damaged properties.

The regime in Riyadh began the military aggression against Yemen on March 26, 2015. The campaign was meant to undermine the Houthis and restore Hadi to power. More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 injured since the beginning of the Saudi strikes.
