Iraqi forces liberate parts of Sinjar from Daesh

Iraqi Kurdish forces have liberated parts of the northern town of Sinjar from ISIL. They’re now clearing the areas of the Takfiri terrorists.

The Peshmerga fighters also established positions along an ISIL supply route that links Raqqa in Syria to Mosul in Iraq. They liberated the governor’s office in Sinjar and five villages around the town. The Kurds say they will continue their operations to re-establish government control over key portions of the areas. The regional government has spoken of a buffer zone to be established to protect the town and its residents. Daesh terrorists overran Sinjar more than a year ago, killing and enslaving thousands of its Izadi residents.
