  1. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani says fighting terrorism requires avoiding double standards. In a meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Rouhani said some countries are not serious in fighting terrorism. He noted that these countries have to accept that terrorists are not a proper tool for the realization of their goals.
  2. Iraqi troops, backed by volunteer fighters, have retaken a mountain palace complex of former dictator Saddam Hussein from Daesh terrorists in the north of Salahuddin province. The victory came on the fourth day of a major offensive aimed at removing the Takfiri group from the province.
  3. The Syrian army has retaken control of a number of strategic positions in Quneitra countryside, south of the country. Foreign-backed militants are still in control of several villages in the region. They continuously try to advance to take army-held towns to reach Damascus countryside.
  4. Israeli forces have killed two more Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The two Palestinians were shot dead in Qalandia and the city of al-Khalil over alleged attempts to stab Israeli soldiers. This brings the number of the killed to 44 across the Palestinian territories.
  5. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators have marched on the Israeli embassy in London, condemning Tel Aviv’s deadly violence across the occupied Palestinian territories. The protesters chanted slogans, demanding an end to Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
  6. Amnesty International has criticized EU's plan to offer aid and concessions to Turkey to stop refugees from entering Europe. It says the plan disregards Turkey’s inappropriate treatment of the refugees. Amnesty has urged EU members to focus on refugee settlement, rather than the protection of their borders.
  7. Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and allied army units have launched a major offensive in Saudi Arabia in retaliation for Riyadh’s military aggression against its Arab neighbor. Yemeni fighters have managed to infiltrate into the southern Najran province, killing and wounding an unspecified number of Saudi soldiers.
  8. Thousands of junior doctors have rallied in London and several other cities in protest at planned changes to their contracts. The young medics warned that they may have to leave the National Heath Service over the proposal. They said the health secretary’s plans will lead to pay cuts.
