Democratic US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s popularity has decreased by 10 points in less than a week, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Clinton previously had 51 percent support among Democratic voters based on a poll released on Oct. 4, however, that number went down to 41 percent on Oct. 9, the Friday poll showed.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Vice President Joe Biden, who has not decided whether he will run, gained supporters from Clinton’s loss.

Sanders’s support went up from just over 24 percent to 28 percent, and Biden’s popularity increased by 4 percent from 16 percent in the same time period.

Last month, Clinton’s support had a steep nosedive too, with Sanders close behind her with a difference of only 8 points, standing at 31.

Clinton is competing against only three Democrats and independent senator Sanders, for the Democratic Party's nomination.

According to the polls from Quinnipiac University, released on Wednesday, Clinton still leads her potential Republican rival Donald Trump in Florida.

Clinton leads Trump in Florida, 46 percent to 42 percent, in hypothetical general election match-ups in the three swing states, the polls showed.

She also narrowly tops Trump in Ohio, with 43 percent to 42 percent, and in Pennsylvania, with 44 percent Clinton to 42 percent, the polls revealed.

She has raised more than $28 million in the last three months, bringing her campaign contributions to a total of $75 million, however, she still falls short of her record $47.5 million raised during the previous fundraising quarter.

Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 election, has struggled to shake off lingering questions about her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

Although Clinton has apologized for the email practice, the controversy has dented her support among some Democrats and helped bolster Sanders’ campaign.
