Iran’s foreign minister says Saudi authorities offered very limited cooperation with Tehran following the deadly stampede near the holy city of Mecca where hundreds of Hajj pilgrims from Iran and several other countries died.
Zarif said Iranian officials will seriously follow up legal and political aspects of the Mina tragedy. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and the whole Iranian nation. Elsewhere, the Iranian foreign minister denied Western media reports that he discussed the Syrian crisis with his U-S counterpart John Kerry during their meeting in New York on Saturday. The top Iranian diplomat added that Iran’s negotiations with U-S officials have been limited to the nuclear issue as outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
