A group of British engineers are attempting to break the land speed record using a car featuring both rocket and jet engines. Now we can show you what the near-complete vehicle looks like, after it was officially unveiled in London.

This rocket car which is known as the “Bloodhound” has been in development for 8 years. The vehicle is meant to smash the current land speed record of 763 miles per hour set by another British car in 1997. The new machine is due to start running next year on a special track that has been prepared for it in South Africa. The aim is in the first place to do 800 miles per hour. But the ultimate goal is to push the record above 1000 miles per hour. This could happen in 2017. But for now, visitors can enjoy looking at the latest innovation at the Canary Wharf motor show in London.
