A new bike lane has been installed in the middle of a long stretch of highway in South Korea. And what's really special about this one is that it is covered with solar panels.
The bike lane is 30 kilometers long and is placed in the middle of a busy motorway connecting two cities. The solar panels generate electricity and provide shading for cyclists. There are even a number of underground bridge crossings that allow cyclists to safely get onto the bike lanes without having to cross the highway. The idea of a solar panel bike lane is not an entirely new one. The Netherlands built one last year.
