Blasts rock US oilfield chemical supplier

The DrillChem manufacturing facility in Conroe

Several blasts in the United States have made a huge fire at an oilfield chemical supply company located north of Houston, Texas.

The DrillChem manufacturing facility in Conroe was the scene of the explosions on Friday.

Officials announced that the fire is now under control and nobody is injured in the incident.

It took about two hours to bring the fire under control, the Associated Press reported.

A resident said he saw the smoke in the area from his house.

"I walked out on the back porch with my dogs and saw a huge cloud of black smoke," Wayne Patterson said.

"The last explosion, we hear about three or four, but the last one shook the house," he added.

The firm that creates sealants, shale inhibitors and lubricants has locations in Minot, North Dakota; Midland, Texas; and Denver, Colorado.
