Press TV has conducted an interview Ken O’Keefe, former US marine from London, and Richard Hellman, president of the Middle East Research Center from Washington to discuss the significance of the International Quds Day, and the plight of the Palestinians.

O’Keefe says there is not enough effort around the world to express solidarity with Palestinians, although there are too many organizations and activists who truly support Palestinians.

The former US marine also hailed a recent attempt by some activists to send a new aid flotilla to the Gaza strip. He believes that the only way to save Gaza is to start direct trade and business with the Palestinian territory. He argued that the current situation in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and restrictions imposed by Cairo’s authorities only allow for the sea route to break the Israeli siege.

O’Keefe says the Tel Aviv regime does not respect other religions or people.

Meanwhile, Hellman says international humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip should be stopped as Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups pose a "threat" to Israel. Hellman claims that based on UN data, the living situation in the Gaza Strip and welfare of Palestinians there, resemble that of people in the neighboring nations. He also claims Israeli authorities respect the rights and beliefs of any minorities even Muslims.
