  1. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says he is prepared to negotiate in Vienna as long as necessary to reach a deal on Tehran’s nuclear program. Zarif says Iran and the P-five-plus-one are working hard to get the job done, but they won’t be rushed.
  2. U-S Secretary of State John Kerry says some tough issues remain unresolved as Iran and the P-five-plus-one are pushing ahead to reach a final nuclear deal. Kerry said the teams are working hard, but they’re not in a hurry to reach a deal on Iran’s nuclear program.
  3. The Eurozone confirms Greece has submitted new proposals for a potential bailout deal. The proposals will be reviewed by eurozone finance ministers on Saturday in preparation for an E-U summit on Sunday. The bloc says the summit is the last chance for Greece to secure its much needed bailout cash.
  4. The nominee to be the next chairman of the U-S Joint Chiefs of Staff has called Moscow the greatest national security threat to Washington. Marine General Joseph Dunford says it would be a reasonable military decision to supply lethal arms to Ukrainians fighting against pro-Russia forces.
  5. The United Nations says a truce in Yemen will come into effect from July ten to the end of the holy month of Ramadan. U-N envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said urgently needed aid will be delivered to the civilians in the week-long humanitarian pause.
  6. People around the world are set to mark the International Quds Day which falls on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan. Every year people hold rallies and marches on this day to support Palestinians and their struggle against Israel’s occupation of Palestine.
  7. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have discussed further bilateral cooperation at a meeting in the Russian city of Ufa. Rouhani said Moscow plays a key role in the region. The Iranian president is in Russia to participate in a joint summit of BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
  8. More than 130 people have fallen victim to the U-S drone attacks in eastern Afghanistan in a matter of 48 hours. The airstrikes took place in Nangarhar province on Tuesday and Wednesday. Afghan officials say the victims were Taliban militants. Taliban have not confirmed the claims.
