Syrian army soldiers and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance fighters have recaptured another hilltop in the strategic Qalamoun region, which straddles the border between Syria and Lebanon.
Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV reported on Friday that the entire mountain range of Jabal al-Barouh was liberated after fierce clashes with terrorists from the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front.
The hilltop connects the Syrian village of Ras al-Maara in the Yabroud district of Rif Dimashq with the outskirts of Nahle, a Lebanese village, located northeast of Baalbek in the Beqaa Valley.
Other reports said clashes still continue between Hezbollah resistance fighters and the militants in the Zabadani region, west of Qalamoun, with the two sides exchanging heavy artillery and machine gunfire.

The Friday gains came two days after the liberation of Tallit Moussa, the highest peak in the Qalamoun.
Hezbollah fighters have also managed to drive al-Nusra Front militants out of two major towns, including Assal al-Ward and Juba. Several al-Nusra commanders have also been killed in the recent operations, while terrorists have been purged from some strategic posts in the mountainous area.
At least three Hezbollah resistance fighters have lost their lives in the battle for the extremely strategic area.
