Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Maajid Nawaz has been filmed repeatedly trying to touch a lap dancer in a strip club in East London.
Nawaz a married father with a young child is a controversial figure, who describes himself as a feminist, is now facing harsh criticism for his actions.
The manager of the club Jay Shah said that Nawaz was very drunk and was on more than occasion threatened to be removed.
Shortly after the story broke Nawaz took to twitter and facebook to try and diffuse the story saying 'Yes, I can confirm that last summer I had a stag night.'
Nawaz is one of the most high profile and regularly commentator used on British Media. But he is actually unpopular in the British Muslim community, who do not see him as representative of their views, or having their best interests to mind.

He is a former member of Hizb ut Tahrir and now the head of the controversial counter terrorism think tank the Quilliam foundation. Calls for Nawaz to step down as a candidate in Hampstead and Kilburn have already started coming in.
Conservative MP Nadine Dorries said: ‘In politics, you can’t advocate one cause or manner of behaviour then act differently in your personal life.’ While Khalid Mahmood the Labour MP said 'the message this sends out to women is not one of respect.'
Nawaz is no stranger to controversy. He once posted a picture of the Prophet Muhammad on his twitter feed which caused widespread condemnation in the Muslim community. His organisation the Quilliam foundation has been accused of demonising and discrediting mainstream Muslims.
A spokesperson on behalf of Nawaz said he denied touching the dancer inappropriately and that his comments advocating women's rights were in the context of Islamic extremist.
