Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has hosted his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi for talks in Moscow. Their talks revolved around bilateral relations and international issues. The foreign ministers expressed concern about the Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen and the humanitarian crisis in the Arab nation.
Sergey Lavrov stressed that the Yemen crisis must be solved through negotiations. He stressed that Russia and China continue to support political and diplomatic solutions to the conflicts across the region.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said his country and Russia are committed to the promotion of a multi-polar world order through mutual cooperation.
China and Russia are also contributing to developing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the BRICS and other new mechanisms supporting the formation of a multi-polar world order. The Chinese minister also pointed to the necessity of boosting the UN’s role and authority in global affairs and implementing reforms in the world body.
Russia says its comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation with China have reached an unprecedented new level. Both foreign ministers stressed the importance of increasing their joint efforts to counter global and regional challenges.
