A top Iranian commander has thanked the country’s nuclear negotiating team after they reached mutual understanding with the P5+1 on Thursday. The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says the outcome in the Swiss city of Lausanne has rendered ineffective US options to force its political will on Iranians.
Major General Mohammad-Ali Ja’afari says the US has now been forced to change its political behavior towards Iran, and has chosen diplomacy to resolve the nuclear case. Ja’afari says what Iran has achieved is the result of the nation’s resistance. He added that Washington has realized that pressuring the Iranian people will only make them stronger. Ja’afari further emphasized that the lifting of all sanctions against Iran is still an important redline that lies at the heart of Tehran’s key demands in talks with the P5+1.
