Iraqi PM visits Tikrit after its liberation from ISIL

The commander in chief of Iraqi armed forces Haider al Abadi on Tuesday announced the liberation of the entire city of Tikrit. On Wednesday, Haider al-Abadi and Khalid al-Abadi, minister of defense along with Iraqi politicians paid a visit to Tikrit and roamed the city’s street.
Iraqi interior minister Mohammad al Ghabban also visited the frontline at northern axis of operation in Tikrit and now seems that the army is cleansing some ISIL pockets in Qudasiya neighborhood.
Press TV team toured the city after its liberation. The Iraqi flag and nothing but Iraqi flag is raised above building s and government institutions.
Iraqi forces are spread all over the city as engineers from the Iraqi army continue to dismantle some of the explosive devices set inside houses and on the roads.
The city of Tikrit, the center of Salahuddin province was finally liberated after 10 months due to joint efforts by Iraqi forces popular mobilization and local tribes. Now the whole province of Salahuddin is safe and secured.
