The Israeli policy of banning Palestinians from entering the al-Aqsa mosque and its compound has intensified, this time an Israeli court issued an order against nine Palestinians forcing them to stay away from the mosque and its compound a period between fifteen to ninety days. They have been arrested and interrogated for what the Israelis call obstructing the visit of groups of Israeli settlers, to the complex.
Experts here say that the Israeli regime wants to broaden its control on al-Aqsa mosque complex and shrink Muslims’ presence there. It is also suggested that the regime was also trying to divide the complex but it declined to do so in the fear of a possible religious war.
Israeli forces go on with different forms of aggression against the Palestinians and their properties on daily basis. The Palestinians say that the illegal practices are part of an ethnic cleansing policy.
Regardless of Israel’s mass arrests and its crackdown on Palestinians and the residents of Jerusalem in particular, they insist to always remain steadfast and defend their holy sites. Palestinians say they will never leave the al-Aqsa mosque empty, amid Israeli attempts to widen its grip on al-Quds and the al-Aqsa compound.
