Iran’s deputy foreign minister Hossein Abdollahiyan is in Russia to discuss several regional issues. The Iranian diplomat touched on the issue of Syria and said Tehran and Moscow would not allow Syria turn into Libya or Somalia. He also expressed Iran’s opposition to any foreign intervention in Yemen and said conducting airstrikes in the Arab Nation is against the U-N Charter. Amir Abdollahian said a diplomatic solution to the situation would benefit all parties.
The Iranian official also described relations with Russia as exemplary and said Iran is monitoring the developments of cooperation with Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS countries on the issue of Iran’s entry into these organizations.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian told Press TV that foreign interference in Syria and Iraq has led to rapid strengthening of terrorism in the region. He said the situation in Yemen may lead to even more complex crisis. He also said Moscow and Tehran stand firmly for a political solution to the crisis in the region.
